Get
a Better Night's Sleep
If
you don't get a good sleep, you won't be as effective during
the day. Poor sleeping patterns make a person irritable, moody
and tired during the day. It makes achieving goals difficult
and relationships can suffer as well. If you haven't been
diagnosed with a sleeping disorder by a doctor, following
these next tips will help you sleep the night away.
Try
a little exercise during the day. This doesn't mean that
you should partake in vigorous activity two hours or sooner
before bed (that will only keep you awake) but it does mean
that you should do some cardiovascular activity at some point.
As little as twenty minutes of exercise can make it easier
to fall and stay asleep at night.
Reserve
your bedroom for sleep. Don't let television or your laptop
into your bedroom. Your mind will subconsciously begin to
associate your bed with things other than sleep. This is not
a good thing. You want your mind and body to feel sleepy as
soon as you get into bed. It isn't hard to get your body into
this sort of rhythm with a little bit of help from your mind.
Make your room dark and inviting. Keep messes to a minimal.
Make
sleep a priority. Too many times we sacrifice sleep so
that we can do the million other things on our agenda. You
have to realize that without sufficient sleep, you get less
accomplished during the day. An extra hour or two of sleep
can make an incredible difference in your productivity. Treat
sleeping as you would your job. You wouldn't skip the last
two hours of work everyday just to get groceries would you?
Many
studies have been done on how a lack of sleep affects our
lives. It's really quite remarkable and a bit scary. The human
body heals itself and your mind relaxes when you sleep. Not
having enough time to do this might actually shorten your
life. You do enough running around during the day. Use the
nighttime to lay your day to rest.
